EMPOWERING MOTHERS THROUGH RECYCLING

We are building capacity for unemployed mothers/women to address poverty and plastic pollution by converting plastic waste into Recycle Rewards we call "plastic money" thereby addressing Sustainable Development Goals 1, 12, and 13.

September 2023.

“Tidy Nigeria Project by FABE” empowers community women to combat the effects of climate change through our “Experiential Advocacy” approach. In our quarterly community clean-up programs, we educate, train, and inspire eco-sustainability while promoting technology-driven recycling methods. Our community women are incentivized for the waste they recover and recycle. With research revealing that only 9% of plastic produced has been recycled, our efforts are crucial, especially in Eti-Osa Coastal Communities, where plastic waste is devastating fish populations and impacting fishermen’s livelihoods.
